Director of the Year Nominee, B. Skow’s Films ‘Daddy’s Girls,’ ‘Homecoming’ Receive Multiple Noms!

NOVEMBER 25, 2013 – Valencia, Calif. – Skow for Girlfriends Films, the boy/girl feature film label created by director B. Skow for Girlfriends Films, received 30 nominations for the 2014 XBIZ Awards. Critically acclaimed dramas “Daddy’s Girls” and “Homecoming” collected the most noms, including Feature Movie of the Year, Screenplay of the Year, and Best Scene – Feature Movie.

In addition, Skow is a nominee in three Director of the Year categories: Body of Work, Feature Release (“Daddy’s Girls,” “Homecoming”), and Non-Feature Release (“Down the Rabbit Hole”).

“It is an honor to be nominated, but to nominated in so many different categories for projects that were close to my heart is something else entirely; I am moved,” B. Skow said. “Our actors, our performers, our crew, our screenwriter, David Stanley – they gave everything they had to bring to life something special for adult entertainment fans. I am so grateful to XBIZ for their acknowledgement, and look forward to the big show.”

Designated by B. Skow as the best film of his career, “Daddy’s Girls” received a total of nine nominations. The story finds blind 18-year-old Samantha on suicide watch after she’s dumped by her father’s best friend, the same man who forcibly took her virginity. Maddy O’Reilly received a Best Actress nom for the role, while co-stars Evan Stone and Alec Knight earned Best Actor noms for their respective portrayals of Samantha’s cancer-stricken dad and abuser.

“Homecoming,” an outrageous dramedy about a dysfunctional family imploding at its reunion, picked up 11 nominations, including Best Supporting Actress for Zoey Holloway and Jenna J. Ross, and Best Supporting Actor for Ralph Long and Michael Vegas. Skow’s relationship dramas “Paint” and “Truth Be Told” also scored multiple nominations, including Couples-Themed Release of the Year and Best Actor/Actress noms for Dana DeArmond and Ryan Driller in “Paint” and Marie McCray and Steven St. Croix in “Truth Be Told.”

This year marked the one year anniversary of Skow’s distribution and directing deals with Studio of the Year nominee Girlfriends Films. Signed last fall to produce the company’s first-ever boy/girl titles, as well as lesbian features and vignettes, Skow’s provocative, headline-grabbing movies have led to tremendous DVD sales and worldwide critical acclaim.

“It’s been a phenomenal year for B. Skow and Girlfriends Films,” said Moose, vice president for Girlfriends Films. “Whether it’s a feature or a gonzo, romantic or dark, Skow’s films reach a broad audience with an aesthetic and creativity that is utterly unique. We are proud to have him in the Girlfriends Films family, and congratulate him on his many much-deserved nominations. One can only wonder what’s to come next.”
